Highlighter - Mexico

Education:  BA Psychology at University of Windsor, BEd (P/J) at Queen's University

Year Teaching: 2

Previous School: John. F Kennedy American International School of Querétaro

Subject and Grade: Grade 3

My travel experience: South Africa, Mexico, Canada, France, Italy, England, USA, Switzerland, Mozambique, Germany

I decided to teach in Germany because I was looking for a new experience as a classroom teacher and need a higher income to repay student loans.

My biggest fear about moving abroad was not speaking the language.

This year, I am most excited about having my own classroom and kiddos!

5 must have items I packed in my suitcase:
1. LOTS of classroom supplies, decorations, & resources.
2. Warm clothes
3. Shoes
4. Gym stuff
5. Spices

Famous, must-eat delicacies from Germany: Wurstsalat for sure (it's a sausage salad!)

Most excited to explore: the Black Forest, Berlin, Cologne, The Romantic Road, Autobahn, and Neuschwanstein Castle (and of course all of Europe!)

One word to sum up your first year teaching: Community

Favourite Memory from First Year Teaching: Having students shower me with love every day.

Professional Goal This Year: Develop my mathematics and science subjects.
